Trisha Sakhlecha writes psychological thrillers about power, privilege and the secrets families keep. Her latest novel, The Inheritance, was a 2026 Edgar Award nominee for Best Novel and is in development for television with Kunal Nayyar's Good Karma Productions, with Trisha attached as executive producer. A thriller about a family holiday that ends in murder, The Inheritance features an elite Indian family and has been likened to Succession and Knives Out.

As a former diplomat, Trisha tends to write from the world she knows. Her novels feature the Indian elite. Can You See Me Now?, inspired by a real scandal at her own Delhi high school, was compared to Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children; her debut, Your Truth or Mine?, explored the slow unravelling of a marriage.

Her next novel, featuring a destination wedding that ends in murder, will be published in summer 2027.

Alongside her fiction, Trisha writes and speaks on the cultural relationship between India and the West. As Director of the Tagore Centre — India's flagship cultural institution in Europe — she was credited with transforming India's cultural presence in Germany, staging the largest festival of Indian cinema held abroad and bringing figures from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to Kriti Sanon to European audiences, reaching more than 150,000 people.

Before writing and diplomacy, Trisha began her career in fashion as a trend forecaster and designer, and has lectured at the University of Oxford.

Born and raised in India, she divides her time between New Delhi and India.
